Resident Acupuncturist — John-Paul Davies
John-Paul Davies BAS, BSN, MHS
Master of Health Science in Acupuncture, RMIT University Melbourne
I genuinely enjoy working with people to help them maximise their health. It gives me a real sense of achievement knowing I’ve helped remove ‘road blocks’ such as pain or fatigue and helped bring equalibrium back into people’s lives. The definition of health is different for everyone: for some, it might be a fleeting few acupuncture sessions to control a migraine flare or muscle spasm from an old sports injury; for others, it might be coming regularly for check-ups and fine tuning. I chose acupuncture as I felt it was an affective modality that offers great a diversity of affective treatment for people no matter where they are along their health journey. Acupuncture offers an affective drug free alternative to get people back up, on their feet and living their best lives.
Why choose John-Paul?
I am a registered acupuncturist with the government regulatory organisation, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA), and belong to the Australian Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
I have an extensive career in health care with over 13 years as a registered/clinical nurse both in Australia and overseas. This has given me a strong understanding of physical and mental wellbeing.
I use Kiiko, a Japanese acupuncture style that goes to the underlying root cause of even simple injuries, such as tennis-elbow or plantar fasciitis. I’ve found Kiiko doesn’t just treat symptoms, this treatment style corrects core issues and moves patients through to full recovery. I get great results and all without the use of medication.
